This book is a hardcover with dust jacket in Mylar. It was published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1943 and I believe this is it's only printing.
The dust jacket shows wear all around the edges and on the spine, but the Mylar protected what was left of it. It's a library discard, so please expect all normal library markings and wear. See pictures for details of wear. One page has a closed bottom edge tear. The books interior is surprisingly clean and tightly bound for its age and use.
It appears that the author is also the very talented illustrator. Colored pictures are on every other page spread. Black and white pictures fill the opposite page spreads.
