When it comes to taking pictures, use the Square Mode on your iPhone or other source to capture your picture. When you use the Square Mode on your Camera for all your pictures, they are aligned side by side perfectly; cropping is unnecessary.
I cannot emphasize enough the significance of photography. Here are my criteria:
*If you have access to an iron, please iron the item.
*Capture the entire item, such as the sleeve, the hem, the shoulder, the middle, etc. Do not cut out any part of the item.
*Make sure the item can be viewed in good light. This means no shadow.
*Take more than one picture for the item. I am always deterred from viewing any item that has only one picture. You want the buyer to “feel” the item you are selling. I consistently attempt to include details of the tag (brand + size), the collar, sleeve, hem, the middle, and anything that makes the item stand out. By the latter, I mean, a bow, a shiny button, fur, sash, an embroidered detail, etc. In addition, take a picture on the back if it has a zipper, a button, etc.
*The picture should be upright, not sideways, upside down, etc.
*If the item is an outerwear, take a picture of the interior if it has fur, if the fabric is sherpa, etc. If there is a hood, take a close-up picture of it. Furthermore, capture details of buttons, zipper, etc.
*Try to take pictures of your items on a uniform background. I recommend consistency.
*Attempt to capture the item closest to its natural color.
*Include any flaw of the item. Be honest and upfront.
