May the force be with you younglings. Episode I costume designer Trisha Biggar had a tremendous task ahead of her matching the original Star Wars costumes from 20 years ago to now. Consulting with the stunt coordinator accommodating action sequences, translating drawings into reality-even weaponry had to come to life. Various influences such as Asian, North African and 14th & 15th century European concepts evolved to create Padme ,Ewan & others. Italian renaissance shows through in Queen Amidala’s wardrobe. So! Even though I haven’t seen any of the movies …(only the original Star Wars when I was a kid…I think 🤔) this iconic movie has had a global influence! As for me, yes I wished I could dress in similar fashion every day! Minimalism; flowy pieces and a mix of costumes & action figures all mixed in to create as closely as possible a timeless and futuristic style. Note 📝 The wardrobe in star wars from what I’ve noticed have no buckles, no buttons or zippers. I’ve tried for the most part to create what I think would go well with what may be considered as close as possible to the clothing in the movies- but I did cheat a little bc I just love SW and it’s so much fun!
